Bunbury Theatre Company has hired John Campbell Finnegan as the NEW Interim Producing Artistic Director.

Bunbury Theatre Company is pleased to announce the hiring of John Campbell Finnegan as Interim Producing Artistic Director. He succeeds Skylar Vest, who resigned last month, following the retirement of Juergen Tossmann in June after 31 years as Producing Artistic Director.

Finnegan brings more than 30 years of theatrical experience both on and off stage, including more than 25 years with Bunbury as an actor, director and designer. He served as president of Bunbury’s board of directors in 2010-2011.

“Bunbury was one of the first professional companies I worked with when I came to Louisville,” Finnegan says. “It has a special place in my heart.”

He recently completed five years as President and Producing Creative Director of the WhoDunnit, Inc. Murder Mystery Theater. He is an Associate Professor of Computer Graphics Technology at Purdue University Polytechnic in New Albany, Indiana and Set, Lighting, Sound Designer and Technical Director for Louisville Collegiate School. He also served as Producing Artistic Director of The Claddagh Theater in Sellersburg, Indiana.

“I yearn to get back to thought provoking work that is socially relevant and on the cutting edge,” Finnegan says. “Bunbury has always been one of the major contributors to that space here in Louisville.”

Finnegan has a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from Ohio State University.
